LEMON ICING

Smeared and creamy perfections of yellow medicine, has circled its prop.
It seeps through and connects to the outer layer of truth.
Yellow medicine is wealthy in double doses, it connects the dots.
Splashes of this goodness is only a tease, you need the whole amount, or nothing at all.
It takes a little courage to reach for it, but once you’ve had a  taste, you cling to it.
Potent and powerful it’s a goodness you  want around; it spreads when you give it room to do so. Yellow medicine gives joy and love; it encompasses you, pulls you in, and it stirs your heart. It’s a mover and a shaker, it gets results. It's a taste of sweetness, because it doesn't have a weakness.
So give it room in your life, the sun you shouldn’t fight.

THE BIBLE

My ways are better than yours. No!
My sins are not as bad as yours. No!
You are a drunkard and everybody hates you. No!
You are promiscuous and everyone despises you. No!
You are an adulterer, and everyone should kill you. No!
You are a homosexual and people laugh at you. No!
You are a liar and everyone should walk away from you. No!
You are a glutton and people will belittle you. No!
You are a drug addict and no one is going to love you. No!
That’s not what the bible says.
Love everyone, from all walks of life.
Pray for the weak, the needy, and the sinner.
Yes! That’s what the Bible says.

INFUSED WITH RAYS

Nothing to gain and nothing to lose; dull as an ancient axe, and bland as an unseasoned meal; there's nothing there not even a chill.
Like wax that needs to be lit, there’s a heaviness that can be strict. Consuming all pollution and particles of darkness there stands a cloud of fogginess.
Breathing in dimness, and drowning out the truth; there’s so many rays, but none to hold on to. Swinging from glare to glare; it’s empty, no it’s bare.
Solid but hollow, whole but half; complete but not done yet. Alive and dead, shiny and without a glow, a spiritless person has no hope.
Rays beam from the son, capturing the essence of a chosen one. Sparkling and bright, the light is blinding and a delight.
As the mind, eyes, chest and womb were opened; it was found there was no substance. Now infused with the rays of this one person, is a beloved who has spirit because of the son.

WHEN SILENCE SPEAKS

Silence can be very piercing, it screams and demands attention. Its bullhorn toned and large letter stance, makes silence bliss, and grand. Roaring like thunder, it clears the way with a calm and yet prideful display. Quiet and hushed, it spills over the room. Slow and steady
with a smooth groove.
Peaceably alert and
making huge
soundwaves,
silence
is
reserved and can’t be downgrade.
It’s
muffled, and shushed, yet noisy and ungagged.
Bold and irritated, it makes its way to the strangest places. Welcomed, but when it arrives, it’s intimidating. It’s hard to handle and pushed around, because silence is LOUD.

DON'T WALK AWAY

I quit because life hurts, people hurt and living hurts.
I have no strength to move, develop and fight through
everyday challenges. I can’t see clear, the road ahead
there’s no guide to capture my stare. It’s easy for you,
you are brave, muscle don’t matter only the strength in your cave.

Like a giant, you knock down the intimidating forces.
You squeeze the meanness out of life courses.
You don’t get backed into a wall, you run right into the fog.

I don’t have it in me; I hurt all over, it stings, burns, and gives
me the cold shoulder. I’ve tried to hold on, being positive, optimistic
and playing happy; but depression has gotten the best of me.
I clap, I cheer “go, go, go;” yet don't.

Like a giant, you knock down intimidating forces. Looking life’s threat, square in the eyes, you scream at it, you warn it, and you haunt it. Life is so scared of you; it tucks its tail, curls up in a ball, and runs down the hall. Life doesn’t bully you. Please help me to get through too!

A Poet Who Didn’t Know It

Books, articles, journals and literature; you read, understand and invest time feeding your mind each line…
You didn’t know it, but you’re a poet!
Clouds, colorful skies, artwork and pictures; you see believe and hold it in, it wants to come out through your pen…
You didn’t know it, but you’re a poet!
Words, music, language, and phone calls; you hear, internalize and remember, blank pages are waiting to be filled with it…
You didn’t know it, but you’re a poet!
Inhale, breathe, soak up and exhale; you smell the aromas, they are gentle and they take the lead…
You didn’t know it, but you’re a poet!
Sample it, try it, touch it and buy it; you taste, bite and take portions. There’s a savoriness and writing of braveness…
You didn’t know it, but you’re a poet!

FRILIK & FROLIK

Careless Squirrels...
They run to the edge,
 jumping high and running low,
they are doing it for show. "How can we survive?"
they all squeak, "Run, run, run,"
 says the chief.
let's cause chaos.
Keep them all
screeching and halting,
spilling their drinks,
 especially their coffee.

ME

You and I,Walking hand in hand
Strolling across the beach
Feeling the sand

Driving down the freeway
Gazing at the sunset,
it’s the end of the day

Keeping very close in the theater
Knowing that we are one
And nothing is greater

Sharing space, time and dinner
Lying on the couch watching
TV, this I’d rather

In the shower, feeling the steaming water
Looking out the window, as hail
Falls big as quarters

Rowing along the scenic river, as we paddle
The water currents are a battle
But just know, I love you my shadow!

LOOK WITHIN

When you’re at a stop sign
When you’re walking through the mall
As you cross the street
While making lunch; look within.

While sitting at a meeting
As you turn on the shower
When you’re at the doctor’s office
When you see or hear evil look within.

As you rise in the morning
While you’re paying your bills
While you’re in class
And as you pray look within there you will find God.

BAD HABITS

I’m in love with you. I miss you every time we are apart.
I can’t get enough of you. You inspire me, you hold me
and you make me feel whole. However, you are not good for me.

I look for a way out, but I’m too weak to take the first step. I ask you to leave, but you insist,
You will never let me go. You live inside me; you have attached yourself to my spine.

I’m in love with you. You bring me joy when I’m down.
The thought of you rises with every painful situation
in my life. You help me to cope with my emotional
messes. But I’ve told you once, you’re not good for me.

I look for a way out, but I’m too weak to take the first step. I want you broken and gone.
Please remove your chains from my neck. Stop running through my life like a wild rabbit.
I command you to leave bad habit.
